Golf and women are a lot alike. You know you are not going to wind up with anything but grief, but you can't resist the impulse.
Enjoy the game. Happy golf is good golf.
After all these years, it's still embarrassing for me to play on the American golf tour. Like the time I asked my caddie for a sand wedge and he came back ten minutes later with a ham on rye.
Woods pumped both fists and yelled, as jacked as you'll ever see him. But the crowd explosion drowned out whatever was coming out of his mouth. It was the closest golf has ever come to sounding like fourth-and-goal at LSU's Tiger Stadium on a Saturday night.
But in the end it's still a game of golf, and if at the end of the day you can't shake hands with your opponents and still be friends, then you've missed the point.
Wait until France gets a hard shot in the nose. Wait until France reacts with some nasty work. They'll get a golf-clap from the chattering class over here and a you-go-girl from Red America. Hole in One: an occurence in which a ball is hit directly from the tee into the hole in a single shot by a golfer playing alone.
I didn't know much about golf growing up.
Never break your putter and your driver in the same round or you're dead.

Golf is more exacting than racing, cards, speculation, or matrimony. In almost all other games you pit yourself against a mortal foe; in golf it is yourself against the world: no human being stays your progress as you drive your ball over the face of the globe.
I can't give up Golf, I've got too many sweaters.
What goes up must come down. But don't expect it to come down where you can find it.
To me, life is like the back nine in golf. Sometimes you play better on the back nine. You may not be stronger, but hopefully you're wiser. And if you keep most of your marbles intact, you can add a note of wisdom to the coming generation.
Forget the last shot. It takes so long to accept that you can't always replicate your swing. The only thing you can control is your attitude toward the next shot.
I've seen the bottom and I know the difference between good golf and bad golf.
Golf is a great way for someone to learn discipline, responsibility and sportsmanship. ?
I always thought of myself as some sort of athlete until I started playing golf a couple years ago.
