Great marketing cannot sell a pedestrian product very well.
Design can have such a positive impact on the way people live and on their relationships and moods.
And the relationships that happen become so intense, deep, involved and complex and really hard to say goodbye to. The hardest part of the show is saying goodbye when it's all done. It really breaks you.
So, to really execute design in its highest form and making people feel joy, that's a great reward.

There's a big difference between decorators and designers and the training is very different.
My dream right now is - and I don't know how to do it, and I don't know if it will work exactly - but just this sort of vague aspiration to start some kind of website where people send in their stories or poems, and me or perhaps some other people turn that into music. I think that's a very 21st-century way of doing it.
As of late, I am more of a homebody. I like having people over. You can smoke in the apartment. I'm just not into going out so much. The crowd is getting younger and younger.
A lot of times when I sit down with the other comics and try to talk theory, they say I'm being too serious.
But that is another story and shall be told another time.
