Not all Peter Greenaway's stuff is sequential, narrative story. Some of it is like an art installation and I'm not particularly interested in being in an art installation to be honest. I'm interested in the story.
I am certainly more interested in interviewing than being interviewed. Sometimes you find yourself attacked from the start.
I ain't interested in the truth. I'm interested in the way things should be.
I think a lot of times photo sessions is just a test, maybe, for models. Sometimes it's for money. I'm going to shoot a girl in a couple weeks in Italy who has been writing me for a couple years. She sends photos all the time and it's kind of like a game. A lot of times people write and then they just want to see if I'm interested. If I say I am, I never hear from them again.
The world of fashion. I'm interested in the world, not in fashion! But, maybe I was too quick to put down fashion. Why not look at it without prejudice? Why not examine it like any other industry, like the movies for example?
I'm interested in human vulnerability. We are alone, and my portraits reflect this quality. I don't want anything to get in the way of this feeling.
Beauty isn't what I'm primarily interested in [in architecture]. I think appropriateness is more important.
It was Elvis that got me interested in music. I've been an Elvis fan since I was a kid.
All my life I've been interested in other people's stories. I wanted to know them, understand them, feel them.
All of Hollywood is run on one assumption: That women will watch stories about men, but men won't watch stories about women. It is a horrible indictment of our society of we assume that one half of our population is just not interested in the other half.
Anyone who pretends not to be interested in money is either a fool or a knave.
The way to get a man interested and to hold his interest was to talk about himself, and then gradually lead the conversation around yourself—and keep it there.
[Alfred] Hitchcock was very interested in the image on the screen. As is any good cinema director. That is the language they speak. It is not literature, it is images on screen.
Eyes are very appealing to me. I also like somebody who is interested in a career for themselves and can treat me like a normal person.
I'm interested in the intimate relationships we can have with those good clothes that we may have in our closets.
I think William Shakespeare's like a passport through your life: as a kid hearing about a play with fairies or witches or ghosts, you get excited by that possibility. Then later on you become interested in the psychology or the politics or the beauty of the language. You grow up with the plays. King Lear is one that I don't feel grown up enough to do yet.
I've wasted a lot of time pretending to be interested in people who weren't terribly interesting.
Track and field has always interested me.
My parents found what I was interested in and encouraged me. They didn`t put me in front of a television and buy lots of toys, the way some American parents do.
I don't like to dwell on the past. I'm interested in Fischerandom now, I am working on a new clock, I'm trying to make chess a more exciting game today. I am not interested in sitting in my rocking chair thinking what I did 10, 20 or 30 years ago.
