I was not, and am not, officially a producer of that film [I am love] but the work of what a producer does I learned at that stage and to a certain extent I've been a producer ever since.
Posing is a performing art.
"With my desire and drive, I definitely wasn't normal. Normal people can be happy with a regular life. I was different. I felt there was more to life than plodding through a normal existence. . . I have always been impressed by stories of greatness and power. I wanted to do something special, to be recognized as the best. I saw bodybuilding as the vehicle that would take me to the top, and I put all my energy into it. " And so with beliefs and dreams like that, he reached the top and everything he has ever done. As the 20th Century developed, not surprisingly people left the church and I can see the church's role in losing people.
I can't possibly be objective about myself. I can look at my other colleagues work, and they are all tremendous, really. To see their faces, to see their expressions, to see how they were sitting in their chair uncomfortably, and start crying even, is a great testament to what film can achieve.
Sometimes the proprietors of the little juke joints gave me a couple dollars. I loved that. I'd go back next Saturday.
