My commitment to the Olympics is not a political commitment. It's not a commitment to any particular social system or cultural idea. It is a commitment to sport.
Each day my reason tells me so; But reason doesn't rule in love, you know.
I prefer an interesting vice to a virtue that bores.
You never see the old austerity That was the essence of civility; Young people hereabouts, unbridled, now Just want.
Reason is not what decides love.
When you model yourself on people, you should try to resemble their good sides.
What! Would you make no distinction between hypocrisy and devotion? Would you give them the same names, and respect the mask as you do the face? Would you equate artifice and sincerity? Confound appearance with truth? Regard the phantom as the very person? Value counterfeit as cash?
Man needs color to live; it's just as necessary an element as fire and water.
To say a sheep has 5 legs doesn't make it so.
To gain a reputation for virtue, grieve over those you injure.
If Google decided at any point to publish my search history, or your search history, or anyone's search history, there's a litany of things they could idea police you about, and if it was published, you would be publicly shamed. Everyone would be publicly shamed. But we trust Google, and we trust the people that run that company.
