We walk from nowhere to nowhere, but at least during our journey we have time to think on how to be able to change this ambiguity!
Any astrophysicist does not feel small looking up at the universe; we feel large.
To assert that the universe has a purpose implies the universe has intent. And intent implies a desired outcome. But who would do the desiring? And what would a desired outcome be?
