All things deteriorate in time.
Communism destroyed so many generations. I look at my grandparents and their generation, and it's as if their lives were taken from them. It's really sad and frightening that something like that could have happened. But I don't really think of myself as Russian anymore. I didn't even live there for that long.
If that is what this world is, what humans are. . . There is no future. Understanding and faith. . . If you take those away, all that's left is fear. I can't accept immoral methods or giving up.
Why do airline pilots always call passengers "folks"? I don't usually take umbrage at generic terminology--I'm one of those forward-thinkers who believes that "man" encompasses the whole darned race -- but at whatever 0'clock in the mornning. I thought it would be nice to be called sometihng that suggested unwashed masses a little less.
Southern lawyers don't read novels much.
