The first thing you have to understand is that I was not desperate to be a writer. I was never a closet writer filing away notes in a cupboard.
Men should only believe half of what women say. But which half?
Only the mediocre are always at their best.
Sadness flies on the wings of the morning, and out of the heart of darkness comes the light.
All women are born evil. Some just realize their potential later in life than others.
To seek out in a world full of joy the one thing that is certain to give you pain, and hug it to your bosom with all your strength; that's the greatest human happiness.
There is no better way of exercising the imagination than the study of law. No poet ever interpreted nature as freely as a lawyer interprets the truth.
What we did is we went on those parabolic flights, which people like to call the vomit comet. Basically, the plane throws you up into the air and catches you. And for about 30 seconds, you feel like there's no gravity. So what we did was we did a series of eight of those in a row.
