Dwayne Douglas Johnson (born May 2, 1972), also known by his ring name The Rock, is an American actor, producer, singer, musician, and semi-retired professional wrestler.
I believe I'm not in the press, just in terms of being photographed and paparazzi all the time, or looking for that sensationalistic type of side or anything like that, so I keep things very quiet.
My goal as an actor is to grow and try different things.
I love making people laugh and feel good, and that's awesome and special for me to be able to do that, but there really is nothing like kicking ass whether it's on a major scale, or whether it's in more of a dramatic fashion. Being physical and taking care of business the old-fashioned way is something that I love doing.
The one thing I couldn't identify with was the blue cowboy outfit he put on.
As long as I can do something that I am passionate about and that I can really enjoy and the audience can enjoy. That is where my enthusiasm comes from.
In life we get an opportunity to do some cool things, and some things that are fun and that we like doing.
Getting back into the action genre is like going back home. It's great.
I always keep moments that were defining for me in my past and challenged me in my past - from getting evicted out of my apartment when I was 14 years old, to being cut from the CFL [Canadian Football League] and only having 7 bucks in my pocket, to bouts with depression - I keep moments like that very close to me because it continues to be great motivators for me. It helps keep me grounded, and it's a good reminder of how things work, and I never want to go back to that.

You wanna do this. . . you wanna go right now. . . do you want to, GO?. . . then go get The Rock a bologna sandwich because this doesn't concern you.
Success at anything will always come down to this: focus & effort. And we control both.
And then all of a sudden, you're doing jumping jacks, you're happy, because Kane can talk. The Big Red Retard can finally speak.
I think the most important thing is authenticity, just being as real as I can be. But also flexible and open to change and other ideas and thought processes. Back when you and I last talked, I was at a turning point in my life, and I was having a tough time. I was hiding it, but I had a really hard time just being me. So now it's important that I'm just me.
I would just say that I could share what served me, which was trying to find the best material that I could possibly find and make it better. When other celebrities and sports stars, or people that are successful in another area, cross over into movies, they're always encouraged to bring that same tenacity and that same relentless drive that you had to make it. You have to apply that to acting.
Every once in a while I get the highly inappropriate proposal which is like, 'Wow, Really! You don't even know me and I don't know you at all, and you want that to happen? Tonight? Ok, I get off work at 7. 30. '
It's important for everybody to creatively honor him in the best way that we possibly can.
Those who are truly brave, shall never live in fear.
The wall! Your success is on the other side. Can't jump over it or go around it. You know what to do.
Actors have a platform, especially during awards season. Which I respect. Everyone should speak out. Here's the thing: When it comes to using the platform, I'm a firm believer that when there's something that needs to be said, I'll say it.
We all love challenges.
