The moon is made of a green cheese.
Barack Obama has raised tons of money. That is what he means by being green.
In my final years in Green Bay, when I wasn't getting the ball, people would ask me why I never complained. 'Because these guys are my family,' I would say. 'I'm not selfish. It's not about me. It's about these guys, my family, and winning championships together.
That could be a high water mark for the Green Party in its history. What two states, I can only guess, aren't you going to be on because of horrendous obstacles to getting on the ballot.
I will but confess the sins of my green cloak to my grey friar's frock, and all shall be well again.
Capitalism can no more be 'persuaded' to limit growth than a human being can be 'persuaded' to stop breathing. Attempts to 'green' capitalism, to make it 'ecological', are doomed by the very nature of the system as a system of endless growth.
What we do every St. Patty's day, which is wear green and drink a lot of Guinness. And maybe cry a little bit and laugh, and everyone will have to sing a song. That's how every funeral, christening, and wedding ends up in Ireland. Everyone ends up having to sing a song by the end of it.
When you're 25 or 30, you know, you can't wear lime-green eye shadow anymore.
I ski every three years or so. I don't have the ingrained confidence that others do, but I'll happily toddle about a green or blue run.
You don't have to live in the country and grow your own food to be green.
Love that so many of you are saying your 2 fav bands are Green Day & Paramore. Do you even realize how cool that is for us to hear!?
The smell of manure, of sun on foliage, of evaporating water, rose to my head; two steps farther, and I could look down into the vegetable garden enclosed within its tall pale of reeds - rich chocolate earth studded emerald green, frothed with the white of cauliflowers, jeweled with the purple globes of eggplant and the scarlet wealth of tomatoes.
Maybe I should drive a hybrid. I do have a shirt that says, 'Go Green. '
And the needles of the pine trees, freshly washed to a deep, rich green, shimmered with droplets that blinked like clear crystals.
I felt no shame in these activities, because I understood what almost no one else seemed to grasp: that there was only an infinitesimal difference, a difference so small that it barely existed except as a figment of the human imagination, between working in a tall green glass building on Park Avenue and collecting litter in a park. In fact, there may have been no difference at all.
My ideal man is dead white old and on a green sheet of paper.
Still, the vivid green of the grass-where the grass is actually managing to assert itself through the dirt-seems out of place. This seems like a place where the sun should never shine: a place on the edge, at the limit, a place completely removed from time and happiness and life.
'Call Me' is not an exceptional Al Green album, but it is as solid as a rock at its center.
You go to towns in Massachusetts, Greenfield, first settled in 1686. Wouldn't it be cool if it said, "Greenfield. First settled c. 13,000 B. P. or approximately 13,000 Before the Present. Resettled. " Maybe we could say even, "Resettled by whites," Or, "Resettled anyway, 1686. " It would have a different impact. And of course it would help explain why the town is called Greenfield, because it was a green field and the fields were left by Native people who had already been farming them.
I never thought about the green, but LA has a lot of greenery.
