As I small child and hearing all the stories about him I, of course, looked up to him as some kind of miracle. Then I got to eight years old and suddenly I was taller than [Bernie Ecclestone].
What many of the Senate Democrats are taking as the lesson of this election was that Hillary Clinton is too moderate and they need to go more Elizabeth Warren, more Bernie Sanders, more extreme and on the fringes.
If I can invent a phrase then this Democrat [Bernie] Sanders takes her [Hillary Clinton] off the hook on the emails. Could there still be an FBI indictment? Probably not.
In a sense the Pirate Party is very similar to what happened for the Bernie Sanders campaign, where people felt inspired and they felt like they were having an impact, a big grass-roots-inspired movement, in particular with young people.
As far as Bernie Sanders is concerned, he is a decent, honest person, and I supported him. What he means by socialism is New Deal Liberalism. In fact, his actual policies would not have been a great surprise to General Eisenhower. The fact that this is called a "political revolution" is a sign of how far to the right the political spectrum has shifted, mainly in the last 30 years since the neoliberal programs began to be instituted. What he was calling for was a restoration of something like New Deal Liberalism, which is a very good thing.
Bernie Sanders talked about except he focused mainly on infrastructure. We are talking about energy and food as part of that and public transportation as part of that infrastructure.
You had a socialist get 47 percent of the votes in the Democratic primary: Bernie Sanders. You have an outright white nationalist populist [Donald Trump] who is now in the White House with an authoritarian strongman who has no regard for facts, no regard for tradition, and no regard for the Constitution. That is what you get when you import third world conditions. You get third world politics, and that's where we are now.
Bernie Sanders says that the biggest banks that dominate the economy should be broken up into smaller banks. This would be far more radical than Hillary Clinton's proposals to regulate Wall Street.
I support Bernie [Sanders] and I love his approach.
I think that both Bernie [Sanders] and Hillary [Hillary] have highlighted how much, over the last few decades, we have seen the concentration of wealth in fewer and fewer hands.
Bernie Sanders is all about being humane and loving to each other.
Hillary Clinton wants to be president, but she doesn't have the temperament or - as Bernie Sanders said very strongly - the judgment to be president. She does not have the judgment.
The Democratic Party has become the party of Bernie Sanders, I mean they are the progressives. That's who control.
I would say is that kids know about Bernie Sanders and they`re off the radar. In the same way kids knew about Twitter before their parents did.
Bernie Sanders campaign supporters feel that he is an outsider to the party, he`s not a Democrat, that he was unfairly treated, and the chair, you know, whether they admit it or not, they are on Hillary Clinton`s side.
I feel so bad for him [Bernie Sanders]. It's really unfortunate that he's been caught in the crossfire here.
The whole thing we've been going through, and I hate to say it but, the whole thing we're going through - Bernie Sanders was a rigged deal - the whole thing is one big fix, it's one big fix.
My fear is that having been promised a revolution, Bernie Sanders supporters will become disgusted and cynical when Hillary Clinton and the establishment win yet again and the revolution doesn't happen.
We see how popular Bernie Sanders was, and it might have mattered. It might have made that Democrat ticket a little bit more unified, and mollified the anger that the Bernie Sanders people felt when they learned that his whole campaign was a joke because he's been cheated and they had engaged in fraud.
I'm not a political pundit, and I don't follow these things probably as closely as others, but there are polls that have shown that Senator Bernie Sanders can beat Donald Trump and, I believe, some of the other Republican candidates as well.
