I remember one time I'm batting against the Dodgers in Milwaukee. They lead, 2 - 1, it's the bottom of the ninth, bases loaded, two out and the pitcher has a full count on me. I look over to the Dodger dugout and they're all in street clothes.
I was so happy to be out of there. “Barabas, if you weren’t batting for the other team, I’d marry you. ” He grinned. “If I weren’t batting for the other team, I would accept your proposal. You had me at ‘No comment. ’ If all my clients were this smart, my life would be much easier. Much, much easier.
He was by no means opposed to hard labour on principle, for he would work away at a cricket-match by the day together, - running, and catching, and batting, and bowling, and revelling in toil which would exhaust a galley-slave.
Some jobs require a more consistent challenge to moral courage than others. Politics is one. In such a setting terrifically good men and women will still be found wanting occasionally. No one does the right thing all the time. It would be more generous and fair to consider their batting average than to judge them only by their last worst act.
God isn't really interested in our batting averages.
Sachin was so focused. He never looked like getting out. He was batting with single-minded devotion. It was truly remarkable. It was a lesson.
There are lots of guns and action in my drawings, and part of that is just to make them more interesting. Because you can go through a whole film and it's mostly talking heads and little else until the action scenes, and they're usually violence or physical stuff. Same with baseball, or any sport. Except I find pitching and batting are visually very striking.
Maybe I'm delusional but I'm usually funny. It's not 100% but I have a pretty good batting average.
I miss playing baseball. Just being able to swing the bat, or run, or dive for a ball, or slide into second. If I could even do that in a softball league, I would never miss anything about baseball. I don't miss the crowds or the travel or even being in the big leagues. I just miss being able to take batting practice and being able to swing as hard as I can. That's all I miss.
To me, form is not about scoring runs but how you feel about your game. Sometimes the runs are not there, but you know you are batting well, and that is good form for me.
I have no idea what my batting average was in high school, but I know it wasn't below. 450, and that's pretty good hitting where I come from.
He has defined cricket in his fabulous, impeccable manner. He is to batting what Shane Warne is to bowling.
Sometimes I need to look at the scoreboard to figure out whether I'm batting hundred-plus or whether I am on zero.
You throw batting practice, you warm up pitchers, you sit and cheer. You do whatever you have to do to stay on the team.
