It's a mystery to me what makes people laugh.
My material life is simple.
Whenever I listen to a children's orchestra, I learn. They feel everything, they enjoy everything, they have amazing energy.
Music is a fundamental human right
My main goal, and it's a big one, is that every child has a chance to get close to music - as a right - that as they have access to food, health, and education, they get the chance to have art and culture - especially music.
The challenge is not so much to change the sound. The challenge is to connect and to create something special.
It's not that people don't like classical music. It's that they don't have the chance to understand and to experience it.
We were so happy to be alive. There was a motel there pretty close. We had a big cup of coffee. Everybody had a room to themselves. But nobody wanted to go to bed. Everybody wanted to stay up and drink coffee and have doughnuts. We had made it. The weather was perfect when we woke up the next morning.
I submit that the Government exists to provide for the needs of the people, and when it comes to choice between profits and property rights on the one hand and human welfare on the other, there should be no hesitation whatsoever in saying that we are going to place the human welfare consideration first and let property rights and financial interests fare as best they may.
Sugar, rum and tobacco are commodities which are nowhere necessaries of life, which are become objects of almost universal consumption, and which are therefore extremely proper subjects of taxation.
Forget the cheap white wine: go to beef and gin!
