No man is an island unto himself.
Do unto others as they wish, but with imagination.
To Him let us but cleave in all ouv strife; and the Tempte1 will flee; the wilderness will be desolate no more; angels will come and minister unto us; and when we pass from them to the ministry of life, be it to the glory of a transfiguration, the sorrows of a Gethsemane, or the sacrifice of the cross, the tran- quilizing peace of God will never be far from us.
The day has gone by when a monk can tear a Hypatia from the pursuit of philosophy and throw her to a rabble of insane monastics to be dragged to a violent death. . . . Man has made himself a law unto himself, publishing it in his pretended "heavenly" revelations, dogmas, and statutes. Woman is not constructing a law unto herself, and she is putting it forth, not on a pretendedly supernatural, but on a natural basis.
Love possesses not nor will it be possessed, for love is sufficient unto love.
That is how life goes--we send our children into the wilderness. Some of them on the day they are born, it seems, for all the help we can give them. Some of them seem to be a kind of wilderness unto themselves. But there must be angels there, too, and springs of water. Even that wilderness, the very habitation of jackals, is the Lord's.

You and I were among those who used their agency to accept Heavenly Father's plan to come to earth, to have a mortal life, to progress. "We shouted for joy. . . to have the opportunity of coming to the earth to receive bodies [for we knew] that we might become, through faithfulness, like unto our Father, God. " Now we are here on earth, where opportunities to use our agency abound; for here "there is an opposition in all things. " This opposition is essential to the purpose of our lives.
Seek first God's Kingdom, that is, become like the lilies and the birds, become perfectly silent - then shall the rest be added unto you.
Washington honors the Platinum Rule above all: 'Do it unto others before they do it unto you'.
Those who are preparing for the coming of Christ should be sober, and watch unto prayer, for our adversary, the Devil, goeth about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour; whom we are to resist steadfast in the faith.
Life's but a means unto an end, that end, Beginning, mean, and end to all things--God.
In truth the prison, unto which we doom Ourselves, no prison is.
Extinction is the beginning of the path: it is traveling to God Most High. Guidance comes afterwards. What I mean by guidance is the guidance of God, as described by the Friend of God, Abraham: "Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. "
I feel my disease, and I feel that my want of alarm and lively affecting conviction forms its most obstinate ingredient; I try to stir up the emotion, and feel myself harassed and distressed at the impotency of my own meditations. But why linger without the threshold in the face of a warm and urgent invitation? "Come unto me. " Do not think it is your office to heal one part of the disease, and Christ's to heal the remainder.
Do unto those downstream as you would have those upstream do unto you.
For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.
Miserable men commiserate not themselves; bowelless unto others, and merciless unto their own bowels.
Woe unto him that is never alone, and cannot bear to be alone.
May I do to others as I would that they should do unto me.
