I do want to direct a movie from horseback one day.
To me, political office should be like jury duty. You should just get a notice in mail one day and be like, I'm Secretary of State next month!
I've made 122 movies, and I daresay there's a picture of mine showing somewhere in the world every day.
Every country must have its own devil. Welshland its own, and France its own. Our German devil will be a good wind-pipe, and must be called drinking, being so thirsty and hell-like that no guzzling of wine and beer, however large, will cool it off, and I fear that such will ever remain Germany's plague, until the day of judgment.
Save a boyfriend for a rainy day - and another, in case it doesn't rain.
I don't like a girl on social media, when you have an open inbox, answering questions from dudes left and right, every day. What's the point? It's like having your number all out.
The childhood shows the man, as morning shows the day.
How could I, blest with thee, long nights employ; And how with the longest day enjoy!
Flowers that grow where old ones have withered serve to remind us that death will one day come to us all.
Make the most out of every single day you have on earth and be thankful for them.
The Girl With Many Eyes One day in the park I had quite a surprise. I met a girl who had many eyes. She was really quite pretty (and also quite shocking!) and I noticed she had a mouth, so we ended up talking. We talked about flowers, and her poetry classes, and the problems she'd have if she ever wore glasses. It's great to know a girl who has so many eyes, but you really get wet when she breaks down and cries.
He who has lived a day has lived an age.
The Omen is one of my favorites. Even though I'm an atheist now, I was brought up Catholic and can remember thinking that it could actually be real! The first Dawn of the Dead is a great one. We had a TV serial in Britain called Day of the Triffids and that was always really terrifying for me as well.
The fact is every single day in the ordinary American people, America's families have to make decisions about their families and that should be made by them, not by the Texas or United States.
Every day after I wake up, I think, 'Wait. . . this can't be real; I'm still going to wake up. '
Each day my reason tells me so; But reason doesn't rule in love, you know.
Secularists are wrong when they ask believers to leave their religion at the door before entering into the public square. Frederick Douglass, Abraham Lincoln, Williams Jennings Bryan, Dorothy Day, Martin Luther King - indeed, the majority of great reformers in American history - were not only motivated by faith, but repeatedly used religious language to argue for their cause. To say that men and women should not inject their "personal morality" into public policy debates is a practical absurdity.
I could always sing, from a really young age, but my voice was really weird. I used to make my mum turn up the radio every day in our house. She was well into music so I got that from her.
My goal is to try to be as happy as I can - going through every day just as it is.
My own experience and development deepen every day my conviction that our moral progress may be measured by the degree in which we sympathize with individual suffering and individual joy.
