I see my purpose in life as making the world a happier place to be in.
Once you understand what excellence is all about. . . you see how that excellence manifests itself in any discipline.
Haters. . . are all failures. It's 100% across the board. No one who is truly brilliant at anything is a hater.
I realized a long time ago that instead of being jealous you can be inspired and appreciative. It carries more energy to you. . . That can be an awesome motivating force that can improve your life if you choose to be inspired and not jealous. It can't be done, and one of the achievements of postmodernity is to demonstrate that. What we are called to, and what in the resurrection we are equipped for, is a knowing in which we are involved as subjects but as self-giving, not as self-seeking, subjects: in other words, a knowing that is a form of love.
Art does not organize parties, nor is it the servant or colleague of power. Rather, the work of art becomes a political force simply through the faithful representation of the spirit. It is a political act to create an image of the self or of the collective.
It would be nice to spend billions on schools and roads, but right now that money is desperately needed for political ads.
