I've been painting and making things since I was little.
I treasure my mornings. I get up early and ignore everything work-related for the first few hours. It's just me and my coffee addiction.
So for those of you falling in love, Keep it kind, keep it good, keep it right. Throw yourself in the midst of danger, But keep one eye open at night.

Pain is a huge gift. It can expand you like nothing else. If you can embrace it and sink into it, you'll get to the point where you can bend and transform your experience of it. Having some sort of creative outlet to do that is another gift.
Everyone is more than what you see on the cover; we all run deep and have our story.
You know, the radio never wanted you to speak about anything, so the music is kinda influenced by the hands of the radio which wants to homogenize it and dilute it and sanitize it. And for the most part, nobody's takin' the time to seek out the cats that are still tryin' to talk, so they have a difficult time being heard.
I think we need a very, very serious effort, primarily through tax policy to provide incentives and encouragement for people to save and invest and expand their businesses and to create more jobs. The kind of thing we did in the early Reagan years, 30 years ago. I think that's essential.
I still encourage anyone who feels at all compelled to write to do so. I just try to warn people who hope to get published that publication is not all it is cracked up to be. But writing is. Writing has so much to give, so much to teach, so many surprises. That thing you had to force yourself to do---the actual act of writing---turns out to be the best part. It's like discovering that while you thought you needed the tea ceremony for the caffeine, what you really needed was the tea ceremony. The act of writing turns out to be its own reward.
I want to be challenged I want to work and I want to feel that I am not being held back that there is something in front of me something more inspiring than just eating breakfast you know.
