Stuart Altman Biography

Stuart H. Altman (born August 8, 1937) is an American economist whose research interests are primarily in the area of federal and state health policy. He is the Sol C. Chaikin Professor of National Health Policy at Brandeis University, in the Heller School for Social Policy and Management. He served as interim president of Brandeis from 1990-1991.
