We're not trying to be deliberately frustrating, but we are laying the tracks for a mystery, and it's one that we have all figured out. We wanted this to be kind of like the way that Cliff [Chang] and I felt about the Cold War in the '80s when we were 12.
Some people I see - people who do more or less have prerecorded tracks - their persona is such that the visual side of just them is way more important and multi-dimensional. Me, I'm boring to look at.
What is the use of going right over the old track again? There is an adder in the path which your own feet have worn. You must make tracks into the Unknown.
I love the sort of ambivalence of this, the ambiguity of something being, for instance, in a quite busy Mexican restaurant with one of these very gentle tracks playing I remember as being particularly nice.
It is definitely much easier to feel that an album is disposable - to dismiss an album or delete the tracks you don't like or to just throw it into shuffle or whatever.
I didn't have any intention of releasing any of the tracks I made.
I wasn't ever a massive David Essex fan, but I liked a few of his tracks, and Stardust was one of them.
In certain cases I don't want to sell tracks individually; I want to only sell the whole album. With simple things like that I just don't get any response [from iTunes]. I don't want to kill iTunes - I just want to offer my own retail experience in my own tiny corner of the Internet.
Reworking other tracks is also quite cool.
Knowledge and belief are two seperate tracks that run parallel to each other and never meet, except in the child.
Don't solicit feedback on your product, idea or your business just for validation purposes. You want to tell the people who can help move your idea forward, but if you're just looking to your friend, co-worker, husband or wife for validation, be careful. It can stop a lot of multimillion-dollar ideas in their tracks in the beginning.
I'm not following anybody's tracks, I'm making my own, baby.
I like my stuff 'cause I only ever end up with tracks that I really, really like. It always appeals to me.
Gershwin's tragedy was not that he failed to cross the tracks, but rather that he did, and once there in his new habitat, was deprived of the chance to plunge his roots firmly into the new soil.
But India did not pass me by without a trace: it left tracks which lead me from one infinity to another infinity.
The difference between the truth of God and revelation is very simple. Truth is where God's been. Revelation is where God is. Truth is God's tracks. It's His trail, His path, but it leads to what? It leads to Him. Perhaps the masses of people are happy to know where God's been, but true God chasers are not content just to study God's trail, His truths; they want to know Him. They want to know where He is and what He's doing right now.
Snow is the only one of us that leaves no tracks.
A thousand hills, but no birds in flight, Ten thousand paths, with no person's tracks. A lonely boat, a straw-hatted old man, Fishing alone in the cold river snow.
Can't believe the number of tracks I get sent every day now. Everyone is at it! There's no way you can keep up and I have two A&R guys!
A lot of the really great stuff fell between the tracks.
