I'm in a place where the audience doesn't have control over my love for the music. In the past I was waiting on the reaction of the fans to tell me whether or not I had a great record based on how they'd respond.
Prayer in action is love, and love in action is service. Try to give unconditionally whatever a person needs in the moment. The point is to do something, however small, and show you care through your actions by giving your time. . . Do not worry about why problems exist in the world - just respond to people's needs. . . We feel what we are doing is just a drop in the ocean, but that ocean would be less without that drop.

There is always magic to be summoned at any point. I love to live in a world of magic, but not a fake world of magic. We all really basically have a lot of magic. . . It’s only those of us who choose to accept it, that really understand it. It’s there for everyone. That’s the only thing that I feel I am able to give to people and that’s why I know that they respond to me because I try to give them only their own magic. . . not mine, but theirs

Severe isn't a word normally associated with a cold. Severe is for weather or third-degree burns. . . No one responds 'severe' when someone asks how her cold is. In fact, nine out of ten Americans respond to 'How's your cold' with 'It sucks. ' So there should be an It Sucks cold formula.

I don't think it's tough to get there mentally. Your mind is saying, 'You know how to do this. ' But your body doesn't always respond.
That was the funniest thing I'd heard in days. You're kidding, right? PLEASE tell me you have a stronger motive for me than 'fair is fair. ' Life isn't FAIR, Dean. . . . Nothing is fair, EVER. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. I need to help you because FAIR IS FAIR? Try, 'I need you to help me so I won't rip out your spine and beat you with it. ' I MIGHT respond to that. MAYBE.
I respond to women who have their stuff together, who are in charge, who don't need men to do things for them. I want a woman to have her own thing.
We will respond to the threat of climate change
Helped are those too busy living to respond when they are wrongfully attacked: on their walks they shall find mysteries so intriguing as to distract them from every blow.
I pretended indifference…even in the presence of love, in the presence of hunger. And the more deeply I felt, the less able I was to respond.
Think about the difference between how your local gas station and congressman respond to a spike in oil prices. One has the price placard outside changed to reflect the reality of the market within hours. The other sends out a press release, tries to organize a hearing, and at the end of amount accomplishes nothing. Meanwhile, the gas station has already made at least thirty additional adjustments to the realities of the market while your politico fails to get anything more than easy media.
We cannot always control everything that happens to us in this life, but we can control how we respond.
