One of the fundamental premises of this Bible is that the gospel changes everything. If this is true, how does the gospel change the very thing we spend most of our waking hours doing - work.
A truth of the gospel is not a truth until you live it. You do not really believe in tithing until you pay it. The word of wisdom to you is not a truth of the gospel until you keep it. The Sabbath day is not a holy day unless you observe it. . . . A friend is not a friend unless you defend him.
Only the gospel exposes the cancer of idolatry.
Gospel music is the purest thing there is on this earth.
. . . the approach of admitting our errors, besides being most true to a gospel of grace, is also most effective at expressing who we are. Propaganda turns people off; humbly admitting mistakes disarms.
There isn't anything else more important than taking the gospel to the world.
I recognize that not all of us may have the same abilities and talents in sharing the gospel. But I want to keep the heat on all of us for getting the good news out there.
God forbid that I should ever teach any adaptation of the Gospel. But I contend that we may serve it up in any sort of dish that will induce the people to partake of it
Once God saves us He doesn't move us beyond the gospel, but He moves us more deeply into the gospel.
It is understandable how some people could give way to this kind of pervasive pessimism, but we speak of a gospel which brings good tidings of great joy and this must be reflected in our lives, if we are to be believable especially as we suggest to others that there is, in fact, not only a better way, but also the way. Scriptures that speak of man as a being who "might have joy" have more impact when falling from the lips or pens of men and women whose lives give fresh evidence of the validity of that scripture.
Sin doesn't make us bad, sin makes us dead. The gospel doesn't make us better, the gospel makes us alive.
The gifts of the Gospel are given to strengthen the faith of the believer.
The gospel assures you that your value is not dependent on your looks or material possessions.
The gospel is NOT preached if Christ is not preached.
I would have every minister of the gospel address his audience with the zeal of a friend, with the generous energy of a father, and with the exuberant affection of a mother.
Do things that will get people asking questions, the answer to which is the Gospel.
The rich brother needs to let the gospel humble him while the poor brother needs to let the gospel affirm him.
For this the Gospel offers us a serene way forward: using the three languages of the mind, heart and hands - and to use them in harmony. What you think, you must feel and put into effect. Your information comes down to your heart and you put it into practice. Harmoniously. What you think, you feel, and you do. Feel what you think and feel what you do. Do what you think and what you feel. The three languagesTo think. To feel. To do. And all in harmony.
There is nothing more beautiful than to be surprised by the Gospel, by the encounter with Christ. There is nothing more beautiful than to know Him and to speak to others of our friendship with Him.
The gospel frees you from the pressure of having to fix people: your worth is located in Christ, not in their transformation.
