American government was founded on a belief and a faith in God and in doing what is right and just.
The Rosary mystically transports us to Mary's side as she is busy watching over the human growth of Christ in the home of Nazareth. This enables her to train us and to mold us with the same care, until Christ is ''fully formed'' in us. . . Why should we not once more have recourse to the Rosary, with the same faith as those who have gone before us?
One should never tie his faith to how old the earth is.
Faith that doesn't affect your life isn't really faith.
Faith that is sure of itself is not faith; faith that is sure of God is the only faith there is.
Have you seen a room from which faith has gone?. . . Like a marriage from which love has gone. . . . And patience, patience everywhere like a fog.
Faith and hope. . . are the wings by which our souls, rising above the world, are lifted up to God.
What are you doing right now that requires faith?
You have read very good books, I am sure; there is an excellent book however, that never grows old; it is the one that God has written on every plant, on every grain of sand, in yourself; it is the book of Divine love. Give, therefore, your preference to that beautiful book and add to it a few pages of admiration and gratefulness. Read and understand all other books in the light of this one.
Fallen man is free to choose what he desires, but because his desires are only wicked he lacks the moral ability to come to Christ. As long as he remains in the flesh, unregenerate, he will never choose Christ. He cannot choose Christ precisely because he cannot act against his own will. His fall is so great that only the effectual grace of God working in his heart can bring him to faith.
The great thing about faith in God is that it keeps a man undisturbed in the midst of disturbance.
In this Year of Faith, we pray to the Lord that the Church may always be a true family that brings God’s love to everyone.
I have faith in God and not that we have evolved from a rock, not from worshiping the environment or endangered bugs.
I'm not an atheist. I do have faith in God. I do not judge people for their faith. I judge people who use religion to hurt people. I don't believe in a religion that shuns people for their beliefs, or that you should hurt people for their beliefs.
The Church does not engage in proselytism. Instead, she grows by "attraction": just as Christ "draws all to himself" by the power of his love, culminating in the sacrifice of the Cross, so the Church fulfills her mission.
Americans in particular are oddly innocent in their faith that science holds explanations for everything.
Intercessory prayer is exceedingly prevalent. What wonders it has wrought! The Word of God teems with its marvelous deeds. Believer, thou hast a mighty engine in thy hand, use it well, use it constantly, use it with faith, and thou shalt surely be a benefactor to thy brethren.
[God] will not be used as a convenience. Men or nations who think they can revive the Faith in order to make a good society might just as well think they can use the stairs of heaven as a shortcut to the nearest chemist's shop.
The most important things in life are intangible.
By faith we began, by hope we continue, and by revelation we shall obtain the whole.
