To me, freedom means having the power, the inherent right, the capacity and the ability to make choices that honour who I am.
When something is new to us, we treat it as an experience. We feel that our senses are awake and clear. We are alive.
I don't know how to organise thoughts. I don't know how to have thoughts.
To me, self-description is a calamity.
I'm working in my mind.
There may or may not be an idea, and the meaning may just be that the painting exists.
I would tend to say that I do what I do as well as possible and that most people don't.
For, what is order without common sense, but Bedlam's front parlor? What is imagination without common sense, but the aspiration to out-dandy Beau Brummell with nothing but a bit of faded muslin and a limp cravat? What is Creation without common sense, but a scandalous thing without form or function, like a matron with half a dozen unattached daughters? And God looked upon the Creation in all its delightful multiplicity, and saw that, all in all, it was quite Amiable.
Always look beyond what you can see
I think of myself as a reportage photographer. I like the word. It implies a personal account of an observed event with connotations of subjectivity but honesty. It is eye-witness photography.
I was born in Mexico, I grew up in Mexico, and along the way, I learned to love Mexico. I think anyone who has stepped foot on this land - not to mention all Mexican people - will agree that its not difficult to love Mexico.
