Martha Elizabeth McSally (born March 22, 1966) is an American politician and retired military commander. McSally served in the United States Air Force from 1988-2010, rising to the rank of Colonel. After leaving the Air Force, McSally was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2014, representing Arizona's 2nd congressional district as a Republican. McSally was one of the highest ranking female pilots in the history of the Air Force. She was the first American woman to fly in combat following the 1991 lifting of the prohibition on female combat pilots.
