Franka Potente Biography

Franka Potente (born 22 July 1974) is a German actress and singer. She first appeared in the comedy film After Five in the Forest Primeval (1995), for which she won a Bavarian Film Award for Best Young Actress. Her breakthrough came in 1998, when she portrayed the titular role in the acclaimed action thriller Run Lola Run, for which she won a Bambi Award for Best Actress. Also that year, she won the Bavarian TV Award for her performance in the television film Opernball. In 2000, she received further acclaim for her performance in The Princess and the Warrior, for which she won the Jupiter Award for Best German Actress and received nominations for the European Film Award for Best Actress and the German Film Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
