I've always loved working on series. The crew feels like a family and it's nice to have a regular gig that you can count on.
One of my first gigs was as a guest star, and I was supposed to be a big imposing character.
I can't imagine playing a boring gig. Like, a boring audience without reaction, I will play against them.
When you're a regular on a TV show, they give you more of a backstory, so with these recurring gigs, you have to make up your own backstory.
I was so happy and content with in life playing music. Music was always my first job and my day gig was my second job.
Lamplighters are the guys who manually turned on all the street lamps in London and turned them off. That was the gig in the 1930s in London.
The only goal is in the process. The process is the thing…with little flashes of light here and there. Those are the gigs, those are the live shows. But it's the life in between—that's all I got.
