Iolanda Cristina Gigliotti (Italian: [joˈlanda krisˈtina dʒiʎˈʎɔtti]; 17 January 1933 – 3 May 1987), better known as Dalida (Egyptian Arabic: داليدا‎), was a French-Italian-Egyptian singer and actress who spent most of her career in France. She is known as the last star of music hall that successfully broke through the transition from the 1950s to the 1960s, and became the biggest singer in the history of French music.
