Ryan Wallace Zimmerman (born September 28, 1984) is an American professional baseball first baseman for the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball (MLB) . Zimmerman played college baseball at the University of Virginia and graduated from Kellam High School. He has been a member of the Nationals since his debut on September 1, 2005. He was well known for his clutch hitting and walkoff hits. Formerly a third baseman, Zimmerman transitioned to first base in 2015.
