Marsha Johnson Evans Biography

Marsha Johnson "Marty" Evans (born 1947) is a retired Rear Admiral in the United States Navy. Since her retirement from the Navy, Johnson has served as executive director of the Girl Scouts of the USA (1998–2002), president and Chief Executive Officer of the American Red Cross (2002–2005) and was the interim commissioner of the LPGA for three months in 2009. She assumed the position on July 13, 2009 upon the resignation of former commissioner Carolyn Bivens. Michael Whan replaced her as the permanent commissioner in late October 2009.
