Lucas Hedges (born December 12, 1996) is an American actor. The son of writer-director Peter Hedges, he studied theatre at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. He has played supporting roles in Wes Anderson’s comedy-drama Moonrise Kingdom (2012), the crime biopic Kill the Messenger (2014), the coming-of-age film Lady Bird (2017), and the crime film Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (2017). Hedges received a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for playing a sardonic teenage orphan in Kenneth Lonergan's drama Manchester by the Sea (2016),
