Gideon Gono (born 29 November 1959) was the Governor of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) from 2003 to 2013 and is the former CEO of the Jewel Bank, formerly known as the Commercial Bank of Zimbabwe.

We need to curb aspects of corruption that are endemic in the economy. We need to be transparent in everything that we do. We need to be consistent in implementing the policies we would have agreed. And not implement policies one day and reverse them the other day.
The invasions are totally unacceptable and should be stopped forthwith by whoever is doing it.
This is the darkest hour before dawn and we should never underestimate monetary authorities' ability to deal with the adversity.
