Ferdinand Lassalle

Ferdinand Lassalle (German pronunciation: [laˈsal]; 11 April 1825 – 31 August 1864), born as Ferdinand Johann Gottlieb Lassal and also known as Ferdinand Lassalle-Wolfson, was a German-Jewish jurist, philosopher, socialist, and political activist. Lassalle is best remembered as the initiator of international-style socialism in Germany. He coined the terms "night-watchman state" and "iron law of wages.
