The compelling argument is on the side of homosexuals. We're Americans. We just want to be treated like everybody else. That is a compelling argument. And to deny that, you've got to have a very strong argument on the other side. And the other side hasn't been able to do anything but thump the Bible. . . I support civil unions, I always have. All right, the gay marriage thing, I don't feel that strongly about it one way or the other.
Help does not mean to intervene. I will not meddle if I am not invited to do so. But if I can serve as a go-between with my experience, I will support the government's call for dialogue with the rebel forces who also have their problems, who also have their fears. I think all us Latin Americans have to help.
Taking a song and bringing it to life in a professional recording studio can be an intimidating process at first; I know it certainly was for me.
