What I do is whatever it takes, it takes. Sometimes you see a scene right away and a take looks great so you might print that and you might print a couple more and take elements of all three. It just depends. You're looking for the highlights. You're looking for the best elements of the scene, but preferably you'd like to have one good take that would go all the way through.
And I used to go the punk clubs such as a gay club in Poland Street that everyone would go to because it was the only place you could go to looking like that without getting beaten senseless.
I like the idea of the painting looking at the viewer than the other way around.
You will never find what you are looking for in love, if you don't love yourself.
You have to look at the past in order to learn from it and move on. I've done a lot of reflecting over the past year. And certainly, I've turned the corner and am looking more toward the future in a lot of ways.
I'm sure that inside your heart. . . you're trying with all your might to find it on your own. . . the reason you were born. Because. . . because really. . . there might not be anyone who was born with a reason. I think that everyone. . . everyone might have to find one on their own. [in her head] A reason for being born. . . A reason that it's okay to be alive. . . A reason to exist. [aloud] I think everyone might have to find it themselves. . . and decide it for themselves. It could be your dreams. . . your job. . . or a person. . . The reason you're looking for. . . might be vague, unclear. . . and uncertain. [in her head] And you might lose it. [aloud] But as long as you're alive. . . you have to keep searching for that reason.
I think women need to have a lobby. I feel that women need to speak out. The first time a man hits you is one too many times and you need to do something about it. That something about it is walking out that door and seeking for help and never looking back.
Being American is to eat a lot of beef steak, and boy, we've got a lot more beef steak than any other country, and that's why you ought to be glad you're an American. And people have started looking at these big hunks of bloody meat on their plates, you know, and wondering what on earth they think they're doing.
Why am I always looking at life through a window?
When you're so drawn to art, to making pictures and looking at art, it's really all you want to think about.
When you're sure of what you're looking at, look harder.
Stop looking out, start looking in. Be your own best friend. Stand up and say, hey, this is mine!
I look at pictures of you because I am afraid that you would notice me staring in real life. I looked at your picture today for countless minutes. It is closer than I’ll ever get to you for real. I felt like I was looking at a captured animal at a safe distance. If you knew I was doing this, you would feel sickened and frightened. That’s why you’ll never know. Years will go by and you’ll never know. I will never say the things that I want to say to you. I know the damage it would do. I love you more than I hate my loneliness and pain.

The holiest of Christians, and those who understand best the gospel of Christ, find in themselves a constant inclination to look to the power of the creature, instead of looking to the power of God and the power of God alone.
Actors are always looking for ways to build a character.
From looking at your neighbor and realizing his true significance, and that he will die, pity and compassion will arise in you for him and finally you will love him.
Beauty draws us in. We can't stop looking or listening or touching. It takes us outside ourselves and it motivates us. It's essential to life and to happiness.
I've got five or six unpublished stories kicking around looking for somebody to buy them.
I named my album Year of the Gentleman. Just looking at how the essence of what it is to be a gentleman is very much lacking nowadays. Someone said to me that chivalry is dead, and I hated to have to agree, but it's true.
